Getting Closer to Japan and, The Hug by Dalila Eckstein | Mar 21, 2016 | Musings, My Life, Writing | 4 comments Share this:TwitterFacebookGoogle 4 Comments Aileen Hower on March 21, 2016 at 4:22 pm So much of this is just unspeakably wonderful. I love how you waited until the end to offer your reader his name. I love how the hug was such a strong part of your title and theme through your writing. I appreciate the interjection of someone who needed you, when you were someone in need as well. I’m so happy for you. I have a baby of my own and I cannot imagine being half a world away from him. Someday I may have to be. I am so happy for you being together, and also being the kind of mom who shows love to his girlfriend. You have a huge heart to hold all of that love. Have a wonderful time with many, many, long-lasting hugs. Reply Molly Hogan on March 21, 2016 at 5:33 pm Such a moving post, Dalila. It reminded me that I read your post last year sometime about your son’s departure and was moved by it as well. My daughter is in England and has been for 3 months. She’ll be coming home in June and once I know her arrival date, I’ll be counting the days! I hope you’ll be posting about your adventures during your visit. Keep on hugging! Reply pamela hodges on March 21, 2016 at 11:48 pm Thank you for sharing a special moment with your son. I will be thinking of you while you are there. What a special trip! I lived in Japan for seven years. It never occurred to me what that was like for my mom. Well, I did think about it, but you made a mother’s love so real. xo Pamela Reply Lori Sheroan on March 22, 2016 at 6:32 pm I could feel your joy throughout this piece; but I also was humbled by your kind heart. You captured the scene with the young woman and the stuffed giraffe so beautifully. I am thrilled that you will have time to spend with your son! I know you will enjoy every second of it!
